Matthew Hurff speaks at Harford County Bar Foundation Conference

On September 16, 2016, Matthew Hurff spoke at the Harford County Bar Foundation Kinship Care Conference held in Havre de Grace.  The Conference was titled, “Relatives Matter: Caring for Children, Youth and Family.”   Mr. Hurff specifically discussed the Court of Appeals 2016 decision in Conover v. Conover, and the Court’s recognition of de facto parents.  The Conover decision specifically applied to a same sex couple, however, Mr. Hurff discussed the potential implication of the decision on other third parties involved in a custody dispute.
